Bandipora Admin launches door- to-door vaccination drive | KNO

Bandipora, May 29 (KNO): Residents in north Kashmir's Bandipora district can avail vaccination at their doorstep as the administration on Saturday started a door to door vaccination drive. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a joint team of officials from health department, revenue and other departments on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmad launched a door to door vaccination campaign in Bandipora medical block. Block Medical Officer (BMO), Bandipora Dr. Masrat Iqbal said the drive was held across Bandipora medical block during which at least 2412 people were vaccinated at 60 sites in the Bandipora medical block and it will continue till the target is achieved. Iqbal said in the process around 600 workers participated in which health workers, ASHA, AWW, PRIs, education department, revenue, BDOs, SDRF and volunteers participated in the mass vaccination process and achieved 80 percent vaccination. The BMO said that besides 2412 vaccinations above 45 years of age done in district Bandipora, 1848 Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) and 485 RTPCR were performed. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Dr. Owais Ahmad said that they have started a good campaign that people are being vaccinated at their homes. "We are also getting a good response from the people and in the coming days our team can complete the 100 percent target in Bandipora block, " he said. Owais said that a better strategy is being adopted and people are being vaccinated at home and the Covid patients under home isolation are also being checked up as well. “After finishing in Bandipora block, People of Gurez and Sumbal will also be vaccinated in their homes for their convenience,” he said—(KNO)
